You’ve heard of Jesus.
You’re interested in learning more about Him and even following His teaching.
But who is He? And what comes next?
Understanding who Jesus is directly relates to your decision to be in a relationship with Him. Who is He?
He’s the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29), the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation (Colossians 1:15), and the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).
The most important question you and I will ever be asked or have to answer is, “Who is Jesus?”
Who is Jesus to you? He promises His followers peace and joy and says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10).
The Bible, the word of God, is a treasure trove of knowledge about Jesus. It guides us on how to live our lives and is the truth by which we abide.
If you don’t own a Bible, don’t worry. We’d love to provide you with one, and there are multiple resources, including our app, where you can read the Bible online.
Start by reading the book of John to learn about Jesus, the miracles He performed, and the way He sacrificed Himself for us. Dive deep into who He is and how He loves and cares for humanity.
Prayer is simply having a conversation with Jesus. It might initially feel strange, but it’s essential to understand that Jesus wants to hear from you. He wants to talk with you about everything, including your life, family, dreams, hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Talk with Him. Take the first or last 15 minutes of your day to spend with Him.
As a community of believers, the church plays a crucial role in our spiritual formation (helping us grow into people like Jesus). Something transformative happens within us when we follow Jesus together.
The best way to connect with the church meaningfully is to join us for Starting Point. You’ll learn how a Christ-centered community grows and guides your journey with Jesus.
Regardless of your beliefs or behavior, Jesus invites you to follow Him, and your decision to say “yes” begins a lifelong relationship with Him.
So how do you do that? Jesus answers that question in John 14:6: “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” We must believe that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
Lord Jesus Christ,
I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. Please forgive me. I now turn from everything that I know is wrong.
Thank you for dying on the cross for me so that I could be forgiven and set free. Thank you that you offer me forgiveness and the gift of your Spirit. I now receive that gift.
Please come into my life by your Holy Spirit to be with me forever. Thank you, Jesus.
Amen.
