Follow Jesus

You’ve heard of Jesus.  You’re interested in knowing more about Him, and even following what he taught.  But who is He and more importantly, what’s next?

Who is Jesus?

The understanding of Christ is hugely important. Most importantly because it relates to our decision that we have made to be in relationship with Christ.

But who is He? What sort of man is this?

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. — Colossians 1:15

The most important question you and I will ever be asked or have to answer is “who is Jesus?” Or more importantly who is Jesus to YOU? Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

Read The Bible

The Bible is the word of God. It points us in the direction of how to live our lives and is the truth that we abide by. It’s okay if you don’t own a Bible. There are multiple resources, including our app, where you can read the Bible online. Spending part of your day reading about Jesus and the miracles that he performed by starting in the book of John. Dive deep into who he is and how he loves and cares for humanity.

Pray

Prayer is nothing more than having a conversation with Jesus. Praying might seem strange at first, but understand that Jesus wants to hear from you. He wants to talk with you about your hurt, your habits and your hang-ups. Talk with Jesus. Take the first or last 15 minutes of your day and spend it with him.

Join Community

Church may not always make sense, but there’s something that begins to happen in us as we gather and meet with God together. The best way to get connected to the church in a meaningful way is to join us for Belong and watch how your community grows and guides you on your journey.

Regardless of what you believe. Regardless of how you behave. Jesus invites you to follow him. Your decision to say “yes” to Jesus is to begin a relationship with him.

So how do you do that? Jesus answers that question in John 14:6, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” So we must believe that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

When you've come to the place where you realize that Jesus loves you and paid the price for you, just pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ,

I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. Please forgive me. I now turn from everything that I know is wrong.

Thank you that you died on the cross for me so that I could be forgiven and set free. Thank you that you offer me forgiveness and the gift of your Spirit. I now receive that gift.

Please come into my life by your Holy Spirit to be with me forever. Thank you, Jesus.

Amen.

If you prayed this prayer today, Tell us about your decision, and let's celebrate!
